    Organic Hojicha from Shizuoka Japan

    Roasted Japanese Green Tea

    Harvest: 2022 spring

    Cultivar: Yabukita

A lightly roasted hojicha with a rough appearance but very delicate taste and tea power. The tea reminded me of a high quality Mugicha, but with a nice relaxing effect that you usually feel from a well aged tea. The taste is very soothing with a subtle sweetness of roasted barley tea, no bitterness evident. Through the roasting process, this green tea is transformed into a brown tea that is not aggressive to the stomach at all, instead you can feel a nice soothing and relaxing effect on the stomach.

    Preparation of the hojicha

The water should be approx 85 °C.

    A few tips:

    1. Before you brew the tea, you should enjoy its smell. The best way to do this is to place the dry tea leaves in a hot pot or mug. In this way, the odorous substances can develop optimally.
    2. Use enough tea in the preparation. On a small pot of about. 150 - 250 ml you should use about 3 teaspoons of tea.
    3. Let the tea steep for 40 seconds for the first infusion.
    4. You can infuse the tea about 5-6 times. After that, a significantly longer brewing time is necessary in order to obtain an intensive taste.

    Blind gekauft - Volltreffer!
