    Description

    Alishan GABA Green Tea

    March 2020 Harvest

This Green Tea is harvested 1000m above sea level in Alishan, Taiwan. The green tea is 10% fermented to increase its GABA level (read more below about GABA), lightly roasted and rolled into small balls. The amount of GABA in this green tea is 221mg per 100g.

It has the typical nutty taste of a GABA Tea, the fresh and light sweetness of a green tea. It can be the nuttiest green tea you have ever tried.

    About GABA Tea

GABA is short for gamma-amino butyric acid, an amino acid that is one of the main neurotransmitters in your central nervous system. Due to an extra step of fermenting the Oolong tea in an oxygen-free and nitrogen-rich environment for less than 30 hours, the element of GABA is increased in the tea.

GABA tea was an invention of the Japanese. But the GABA tea made from Japanese tea leaves is quite astringent. More GABA tea is produced in Taiwan nowadays, because when made from Taiwanese high mountain tea, the astringency is much less and the tea is much smoother and more delicious.

Angenehm weich und cremig im Mund, schmeckt leicht süß und nach Mlich. Hat geschmacklich nichts mit normalen grünen Tees zu tun, aber ich finde ihn sehr lecker. Lohnt sich auszuprobieren.
