Glaze: The pistils are glazed, the inside of the kyusu is not glazed. The pure tone inside helps bring out the sweetness of Japanese green tea and soften the tartness.
Cleaning and care: Do not use soap and only rinse with hot water, if necessary brush off with a soft natural brush. Separate the lid from the kyusu and lay the kyusu upside down on a soft cloth to dry naturally.
This Kyusu was made by Teruyuki Isobe, who has been making ceramic teaware since the 1950s, has received a number of awards in Japan for his teapots, including 11 Chozan Awards. Master Teruyuki was awarded "Valuable Traditional Craftsman" by the government of Aichi Prefecture, where Tokoname City is located.
Master Isobe's teapots are characterized by the design of small flower pistils and perfect proportions in the shapes. Master Teruyuki Isobe and his teacher Takasuke Tôen are well-known figures in the Japanese ceramics world. His works have also circulated on the European and American markets in recent years.
