Organic Kamairi Tamaryokucha from Kagoshima, Japan
Aroma of dry leaves: nutty like roasted peanuts and creamy and oily like peanut butter, sweet like sweet corn
Aroma of the moist leaves: roasted peas and spinach
Mouthfeel: very silky and soft
Consistency of the tea: medium thick
taste: This green tea is very floral, like the orchid aroma in a Tie Guan Yin and the peel of a ripe quince. The flowery is especially nice between the teeth after you've swallowed the tea. In the first 3 infusions it is medium-spicy with umami, minerality and subtle saltiness. It's very nutty, like roasted peas, as is the aroma of its moist leaves. The tea also tastes vegetarian like zucchini, with a fruitiness reminiscent of fresh Nashi pears.
The tea has almost no bitterness, with a very balanced and pleasant astringency.
Preparation method
The pleasant sweetness, nuttiness, flowery and the taste of this green tea last up to 7 infusions if you take 5 g for 100 ml and steep the tea for 10-15 seconds at 80 °C.
