Keemun tea from China - without flavoring additives

A classic black tea from China: light, malty, earthy. Just very gentle.

This tea is very different in taste and smell from Indian black teas such as Darjeeling or Assam.

Keemun tea is named after the place where it was originally made. This is the Keemun (Qimen) district of Huangshan City in the Anhui Province.

taste

This tea has a malty, fruity taste that is reminiscent of unsweetened cocoa remind. The tea has a slightly smoky note and the best types have either a fruity or orchid-like scent. This is due to the high proportion of geraniol.

preparation

Keemun tea should be infused with boiling water. Since the taste develops very quickly, you should avoid letting it steep for too long.

The steeping time in a large jug is about 2-3 minutes. But just give it a try and let it steep until it suits your taste.

Für mich ist dieser Tee sehr gut zum Frühstück, weil ich ihn sowohl pur als auch mit Sojamilch gut finde.

Erfrischend leicht und anders bei Western Style

Ich nutze Wasser, das zwar als 'Mineralwasser' deklariert ist, aber praktisch keine Mineralien enthält.
Diesen Tee habe ich "westlich" ausprobiert, 3g/200ml bei 100°C, 3,5 Minuten im Teeglas.

Zum Vergleich: Das Üblichen aus dem Teeladen um die Ecke würde ich als breit aromatisch, malzig, leicht fruchtig beschreiben. Die Ergiebigkeit ist - im Vergleich zu Ceylone etc, eher gering, wobei längere Ziehzeiten dann zur Pampigkeit neigen.

Dieser Keemun hier wirkt frisch, mineralisch, in Folge aber auch leicht dünn. Die Rauchigkeit ist da, so wie zum Beispiel auch Lilien einen rauchigen Unterton haben. Beim Abkühlen des Trunks in der Tasse kommen herbe, pflanzliche Aromen durch, und er bekommt eine cremig griesige Substanz. Auf eine merkwürdige Weise wirkt das Aroma länger und stärker nach, als beim Trinken selbst?

Vieleicht sollte ich die Menge pro Glas nochmal erhöhen, was beim eher günstigen Preis ja machbar ist.
