This Zhengyan Yancha is from Lotus Cliff (Lian Hua Feng) in the national park of Wuyi mountain. It was harvested, half oxidized and baked witb medium-low fire in autumn 2019.

Aroma of Qi Lan

Qi Lan means rare orchid, because this cultivar is known to be highly flowery. Chinese people like to use orchid to describe a flowery aroma that is not rosy, not jasmin and not easy to pinpoint. This name serves this cultivar well, because the tea is so aromatic that it is really relaxing for the mind when one just sniffs it.

In addition to flowery aroma, the tea scents tropical fruit. Again, it is really difficult to pinpoint which tropical fruit. Dry leaves in a warm teapot or Gaiwan smell just really sweet, fresh, a little like a green mango. In the end, one cannot miss the strong woody scent. The mixture of wet wood, green Mango and orchid is the best description of this Qi Lan.

Taste of Qi Lan:

The taste of this Qi Lan is like its aroma. One can taste the wood and the mango unmistakably. Its woodiness gets stronger from the first to about fifth infusion. He is really sweet, and becomes sweeter and sweeter. It seems there is no end to its sweetness.

Dieser Qi Lan Yancha ist wirklich unbeschreiblich lecker. Sehr süß, blumig, fruchtig, holzig und wer weiß noch was mehr. Zusammen mit dem Duft, der so unglaublich fantastisch ist, dass einem die Worte fehlen, den der Tee aufgebrüht verströmt, hat man wirklich ein unvergessliches Erlebnis. Da ist es wohl klar, dass dieser Qi Lan Yancha bei mir in die Sammlung einzieht. Mehr als empfehlenswert.

Rating: 10/10; Feldarbeit in den Wuyi-Bergen ist angesagt. Man kriegt das Feeling des Lebens der einfachen Leute in einen Tee übertragen. Lieblich und frei, doch zugleich robust und fordernd. Besser geht es nicht, auch nicht beim Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis.
