Son La Oolong is not only a highly aromatic oolong, but also one with depth. It has the special characteristics of a high-mountain tea: clear, floral, and sweet.
It has an incredible sweetness and a smooth mouthfeel. Unlike some other highly aromatic oolongs that become flat after 3-4 infusions, it offers about 8 infusions when using about 6g for 120ml of water.
The sweetness that remains in the throat long after swallowing is a real pleasure of this tea.
Preparation in a Gongfu teapot
- Put about 5-6g of Oolong tea leaves into a 120ml Gongfu teapot/Gaiwan.
- Add water at 95 °C to the jug.
- Let it steep for about 40 seconds the first time, 20-30 seconds for the medium infusions and 1-2 minutes for the late infusions
- Pour about 8 times
